A 2-day team building seminar was conducted at Precious Garden Resort, Babak, Island Garden City of Samal Island last June 28-29, 2014.

It was attended by the eight (8) members of Task Force for Youth Development bringing along with them 2 members of youth each from their respective puroks that makes a total of 24 participants.

Members of the youth enjoying the amenities of the resort after the orientation and while waiting for lunch and be ready with the start of the activities in the afternoon.

The participants and the members of facilitators composed of barangay officials, enjoying their first lunch upon setting foot at Precious Garden Resort on the first day.

The first activity tackled UNITY where participants were asked to do a task requiring presence of mind to become fully aware that they will never be united if they go to different directions in spite that all of them were given the same instructions. Next was effective communication through a secret message relay.

On the next activity, the participants were taught on BUILDING TEAM CONFIDENCE where the two teams were pitted against each other in a cheering competition.

While waiting for dinner, a short program was set for the Punong Barangay to inspire the youth and gave some fatherly advice.

After dinner, all the activities during the day were discussed thoroughly and processed to find out all the lessons learned. A mini lecture on Parliamentary Procedure was also conducted by Sec Red Nartates just to let them know the basics on how to properly conduct of a meeting.

On the following day, the participants prepared to take their breakfast and get ready to tackle the two remaining activities.

The first activity was about LEADERSHIP and TEAMWORK where each team was asked to appoint a leader and plan for strategies in order to win the competition in a water relay.

The last activity was the setting of vision and ogjectives for the youth of barangay Vicente Hizon Sr. and these were being concretized by each group by way of building a sand castle and explained it later. The facilitator ended up the session by praising the participants for a job well done and threw a challenge to work hard for the attainment of their vision and ultimately offering their highest order of commitment.

The concluding part of the activities is a very sumptuous lunch offered by the proprietor of the resort who happened to be the mother of one of the members of the Task Force for Youth Dev. - that she even offered a compliment to bring the whole group to “Vanishing Island” near the resort but was aborted because the boat cannot go near the shore due to low tide.

It was again a very successful event since everybody enjoyed during the 2-day adventure education activities through team building. Sec Red
