The Barangay Tourism, Arts and Culture Council of Barangay Hizon will hold an Amateur Photography contest starting April 1 to June 10 of this year. This was gathered today from Marites Z. Del Rosario, the co-chairperson of the council. The contest has only one category. All entries must be photographs on nature-landscapes, a day in the village and other concepts, and man’s positive impact on nature. All entries must have been taken anywhere in Barangay Hizon after March 15. The awarding of ribbons and Plaques of Citation will be done on July 10,2011 which is also the Araw ng Barangay V. Hizon. For contest purposes, a photographer will be considered as an amateur if his or her earnings as a photographer is less than 10% of his total income. Barangay Hizon, which is headed by Barangay Captain Ralph. O. Abella, does not have an internal revenue allotment or IRA but strives for excellence in delivering services to its constituents. A very strong spirit of volunteerism and the private sector’s involvement in our communities are the keys in attaining our goals. "With the cooperation of the homeowner’s associations, we are now perceived as the model in ecological segregation and disposal of garbage in the city. The Tourism, Arts and Culture Council is basically run by the private sector,” Barangay Captain Abella added. In the last two months, thousands of volunteers had cut grass and trees, collect garbage and cleaned canals on Saturdays in several subdivisions in Barangay Hizon. RULES OF THE CONTEST
1. The Search/Contest is open to all children whose parents are bonafide residents of Barangay Vicente Hizon, Sr.;
2. He/She must be 3 years to 7 years of age, as of March 30, 2011, and in good health;
3. The Purok Leaders of the different subdivisions together with the Homeowners’ Presidents shall coordinate with each other, in coming
up with their Village Candidates;
4. Entry Forms will be given to the Purok Leaders and also available at the Barangay Office. Deadline of Submission of names or entries
at
the Barangay Office will be on or
before March 30, 2011, at 5:00 in the afternoon;
5. The sharing of Proceeds shall be as follows:
· 60% - goes back to the candidate’s parents/ declared guardian
· 30% Barangay Share
· 10% Subdivision Share – where the candidate/s reside
6. Each subdivision/village can have 2 or more candidates for Mutya and Prinsipe;
7. Schedule of Canvassing

8. The different candidates shall be introduced/presented formally to the general public during the 1st Canvassing on May 17, 2011,
to be escorted by their parents, Purok Leader or Homeowner’s President.
9. After an OFFICIAL TALLY has been declared, the Mutya and Prinsipe candidates who get the highest amount of funds raised in their
respective category, shall be declared the winners for the MUTYA AT PRINSIPE NG BARANGAY HIZON, SR. 2011;
10. Motorcade to be participated by all candidates who will be in their respective Floats shall be on July 9, 2011;
11. CORONATION NIGHT shall be on July 10, 2011, Brgy. Hizon Elem. School at 7:00pm.
