The month of December is fast approaching bringing along the cold weather and the escalating number of couples getting married! The government through the Department of Health was also prepared in such a situation, to make these couples cognizant of their responsibilities as would-be parents.

A pre-marriage counselling seminar was recently held at Barangay Vicente Hizon Sr. last October 20, 2011 (whole day) at the Barangay Health Center conducted by Casandra Alonto Maderse, Population Worker under supervision of Bai Teresita Dilangalen Fernandez, Population Program Officer II, Population Division of Davao City Health.

Invited as resource speaker was Mr. Eldy B. Sombilon, Nurse III from the Sasa District who discussed the topics about Human Sexuality and Maternal & Child Health Care.

Attending the seminar were 5 couples, with one young participant born with an Indian descent and getting married to a Filipina.
