The first wave of dog vaccination started at Fortune Executive  Homes Plaza last September 14, 2011, 8:00 to 12:00 p.m. initiated by the Brgy. Vicente Hizon Sr. Officials in coordination with City Veterinarian Office. 

It all started with an LCD Projector presentation of the ill-effects of the virus rabies to human beings once infected but on the other hand, some known preventive measures were also shown like, vaccination of the host or carrier of the virus.

Four representatives from City Veterinarian Office spearheaded the vaccination of dogs namely;  Loreto Odoya, Jose Angeles Lolita A. Landero and Leah Y. Punzalan.

The Barangay health workers were also present namely; Mary Ann Tapia, Ma. Elena M. Olasiman, Joy Tinambacan, Teresita M. Tauto-an, Marissa B. Olayvar to assist the contingent from the City Vet.

Overseeing the activity were Kagawad Erico R. Talili, the Committee Chairman on Health and Social Services  and Kagawad Crestita B. Santander, Committee Chairman on Education. The Punong Barangay Ralph O. Abella also came a little later, to boost the morale of his Officials and the whole team.

There were about 118 dogs vaccinated during the day and it is our fervent hope that Fortune will now be a rabies-free community and we owe it all to Louis Pasteur who gave us the anti-dote. Sec Red
