BGPMS EXIT CONFERENCE

The Barangay  Governance Perfomance Measurement System (BGPMS) exit conference of this barangay was conducted last October 14, 2011 at 1:00 p.m.

In attendance was no less than Ms. Judy Aparece from DILG who mentored the secretary on the preparation of the BGPMS and going to the extent of inviting him during the presentation of Barangay 7-A.

Present also were all the kagawads including the SK Chairperson who are all members of the BDC and according to Ms. Aparece, it was a well-attended and well represented affair.

Invited during the conference were members of the Barangay Development Council and the members of the Barangay Governance Performance Assessment Team among them were; BDC Members- CSO Mr. Romulo Remollo of ANFLOCOR, Ms. Tes del Rosario, Mr. Pedro Mabalhin, Mr. Peter Manayon, Mr. Rey Yap and Mr. Leandro Lucero, representative of Ms. Pinky Alpas - principal of Hizon Elem. School as member of the Assessment team.

The presentation started with a doxology, followed by a national anthem, an opening remarks and welcome address by the Punong Barangay Ralph O. Abella. Laying down the objective of the BGPMS and State of the Barangay Governance Report (SBGR) was no less than the energetic Ms. Judy Aparece of DILG .

Shortly followed was the presentation by the Barangay Secretary, Mr. Redentor E. Nartates, who started calling the shots and explaining in detail the process on how to go about in measuring the performance based on the listed indicators such as governance, administration, social services, economic development and environmental development.

The Barangay Governance Performance Measurement Sytem (BGPMS) will finally result to the state or condition of the barangay performance being assessed for a particular period of time, in this case CY 2010.

The BGPMS is a management tool, and as a management tool it could be a of great help to no other else but to management itself being assessed - to keep it on improving its own performance. The award or recognition is just a consequence because that will just come out later for assessing objectively and following diligently the recommendations based on the findings of the assessment.

The members of the Barangay Council are fortunate to have Ms. Judy Aparece on their side, for  her patience and untiring support to our infant barangay and we surely owed her an unsurmountable amount of gratitude. Thank you Mam Judy and More Power to You! Sec Red
