The Office of the City Planning and Development Coordinator,  recently launched  a one-day Barangay Administration and Development Planning Orientation last October 25, 2011 at Precious Kidz Catering, Lopez Jaena St., corner Telstar St., Brgy. 9-A, (near RMC gym), Davao City.

It was attended by officials from Barangay Mandug, Sasa, Pampanga, Angliongto, V. Hizon Sr., Tigatto & Waan Cluster 9.  The orientation was intended for Barangay Development Council members to familiarize themselves on the Development Cycle starting from Development, Economic aspects, Environmental Management, Social, Infrasructure and Utilities.

In attendance for Barangay Vicente Hizon Sr.,headed by Officer In-Charge Kagawad Erico Talili were Kagawad Cristita B. Santander, Treasurer Asuncion E. Patayon, SK Chairperson Maria Kristia Karla P. Quiban Kagawad Delfin Compoc, Secretary Redentor E. Nartates, Kagawad Eufracio Uy and Kagawad Pepito Manayon.

Present also was Ms. Judy Aparece from DILG-City Operations Office - aside from the resource speakers from City Treasurer's Office, City Budget Office, City Accountant's Office,   City Tourism and all other Offices under the Office of Mayor Sarah Z. Duterte.

Explaining the "adverse role" of City Accounting (as perceived by some) was Ms. Joan Canillo in behalf of Ms. Rizalina Justo, the City Accountant and for the City Cooperative  Development Office was Mr. Alvert Austria, who's holding office at Buhangin Barangay Hall.

Giving updates for the City Tourism activities was Ms. Tzaris Pagatpatan - mentioning note worthily among others, was that Barangay Vicente Hizon Sr. "is one potential area for tourism project," according to her.

Last speaker for the morning session was Mr. Orly Limpangog from the City Environment and Resources Office.

Followed shortly was the lunch break and before the resumption, a short physical exercise was introduced by the host to keep the participants alive and awake.

Other resource speakers were Ms. Shirley Arendain from the City Civil Registrar Office, Ms. Necitas S. Dalope from the CSSDO, Mr. Pepito Capili of the City Disaster Coordinating Council, Michelle Wenceslao from the City Health Office, Ms. Imelda R. Vismanos of Integrated Gender Dev,t. Division and Engr. Minerva Taculin in behalf of Engr. Roland Reyes of City Engineer's Office.

Wrapping-up the session was Ms. Erlinda Gonzales of the City Planning  & Development Office.
