The barangay recently hold its Anti-Drug Awareness Seminar last July 27, 2011 at Kaoris Place.

Invited speakers were from the City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (CADAC) represented by Mr. Terso D. Gregorio, Admin. Officer and representatives from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) namely; Mr. Noli D. Dimaandal, Information Officer III and Gregorio B. Espiritu Jr., Admin. Officer.

The participants were mostly coming from the youth sector, numbering around 70 from the different subdivisions of the barangay, such as Lizada Village, Pampanga Exec. Homes, Donnasville, Sto. Domingo I, Fortune Exec. Homes and Nova Tierra Village.

Present also during the entire duration of the seminar were the Punong Barangay Ralph O. Abella, Kagawad Erico R. Talili, Kagawad Laurente S. Capisos, Kagawad Pepito Manayon, Kagawad Cristita Santander, SK Chairperson Ma. Kristina Karla Quiban, SK Kagawad Connie Galendez,SK Kagawad Jessa Paula Cua and SK Kagawad Hazel Bungabong.

It was really a learning experience not only for the youths but also for everybody around because I for one, became updated of the latest "lingos" on the drug trade and activities.

It was also shown during the lecture via an LCD projector, the evils of using drugs…because even famous celebrities who got hooked into it, ruined their once successful careers… and even going to the extent of committing suicides…Tsk…tsk…what a tragedy.

In retrospect, the barangay should strengthen its campaign against illegal drugs…Let’s help the users and jail the pushers! Sec Red
