The DENR –EMB  "Adopt- a River/Creek Program was once again launched a simultaneous clean-up of creek and esteros last March 23, 2012 starting at 6:00 a.m.

Barangay V. Hizon as one of the adaptors (Fortune Creek down to Insular creek) participated during the clean-up activity led by the Committee Chairman on Environment Kagawad  Eufracio C. Uy. He was joined by Kagawad Leo  F. Digal and barangay functionaries like the Project Maintenance Crews, Barangay Tanods and Purok Leaders.

The combined group from different sectors coming from the barangay, DENR personnel, NGO’s concentrated all their efforts in de-clogging debris under the bridge in between Dencio’s Kamayan and Patok Sa Manok.

A group coming from the private sector specifically PETRON heeded the call and actively participated during the creek clean-up activity.

Present also to give their support were Kagawad Erico R. Talili and Kagawad Laurente S. Capisos the Committee chairmen of Health/Social Services and Good Governance/Tourism, respectively. A voluminous amount of debris was plucked under the bridge and once again the water from the tributaries upstream can now smoothly flow down to the high seas. Sec Red
