In coordination with the Department of Justice and  Office of the Regional Prosecutor, Barangay V. Hizon, Sr. had a successful orientation/seminar on Barangay mediation yesterday, March 19, 2011 at the Barangay Office.

Facilitators were Atty. Edwin Dumalogdog, Asst. Regional Officer, DOJ Action Center and Pros. Nanette G. Lemana, Asst. Regional Prosecutor, Office of the Regional Prosecutor, Region XI, Davao City. The participants of 50 Barangay leaders were composed of the Barangay Kagawads,  Lupon members, Purok Leaders and the Barangay Police/Tanod and the Punong Barangay himself, Ralph O. Abella.

In our effort to promote Peace and Order in the community,  knowledge of the barangay laws will surely equip all the leaders to implement  it effectively.  Hence, we look forward to the support of the barangay constituents to cooperate, as well.

There's a plan to hold another seminar that will tackle more details on mediation and  to discuss further the creation of the Interventional & Diversion Council and implementation under the Brgy. Child Protection Program.
